Abstract

The elec. conductance of ionic solns. is studied within the context of Fuoss-Onsager theory using equil. pair correlation functions from the hypernetted chain equation and the mean spherical approxn. Simple anal. expressions are obtained using the mean spherical approxn. for the equil. pair correlation function. The agreement with exptl. data of NaCl, KBr, BaCl2, and LaCl3 is found to be very good, considering that there are no adjustable parameters.
