Abstract

Unilateral injection of MPP+ (4 micrograms/1 microliter) into the pars compacta of the substantia nigra in rats induced ipsiversive circling immediately after the injection. Ipsiversive circling was still present 7 days after the injection. Systemic injection of the dopamine agonist apomorphine induced contraversive circling.
