Abstract
We describe an ongoing project by the QCDSF collaboration to calculate baryon wave functions at small inter-quark separation using lattice QCD. Preliminary results are presented for the wave functions at the origin and momentum fractions carried by the valence quarks in the nucleon and its negative parity partner, N* (1535). The calculations are done using two flavors of dynamical (clover) fermions on lattices of different volume and pion masses down to mπ ≃ 180 MeV.
