Abstract (English)

This thesis reports on the synthesis and characterization of mono-, di-, and oligonuclear cobalt complexes with diphosphacyclobutadiene and diphosphacyclobutene ligands. Chapter 1 reviews the chemistry of transition metal phosphaalkyne and diphosphacyclobutadiene complexes. Besides the synthesis and structural motifs of diphosphacyclobutadiene complexes, this chapter also deals with the coordination properties of such species. In chapters 2 and 3, the functionalization of the diphosphacyclobutadiene ligand is discussed. Chapters 4 and 5 describe coordination studies, which have resulted in the synthesis and characterization of numerous new di- and oligonuclear complexes with diphosphacyclobutadiene ligands. Chapter 6 reports on the thermal properties as well as the potential application of complexes with diphosphacyclobutadienes and other phosphorus containing ligands in atomic layer deposition. The final chapter 7 summarizes the results of this thesis and gives a brief outlook.

Die vorliegende Dissertation berichtet von der Synthese und der Charakterisierung von mono-, di- und oligonuklearen Komplexen mit Diphosphacyclobutadien- und Diphosphacyclobuten-Liganden. Kapitel 1 gibt einen Überblick über die Chemie von Phosphaalkin- und Diphosphacyclobutadien-Komplexen der Übergangsmetalle. Dieses Kapitel behandelt neben der Synthese und der Strukturmotive von Diphosphacyclobutadien-Komplexen ebenso die Koordinationseigenschaften dieser Verbindungen. In den Kapiteln 2 und 3 wird die Funktionalisierung des Diphosphacyclobutadien-Liganden diskutiert. Die Kapitel 4 und 5 beschreiben die Ergebnisse von Koordinationsstudien, welche die Synthese und Charakterisierung von zahlreichen neuen di- und oligonuklearen Diphosphacyclobutadien-Komplexen zur Folge hatten. Das Kapitel 6 berichtet von der Untersuchung der thermischen Eigenschaften sowie der potentiellen Anwendung von Komplexen mit Diphosphacyclobutadienen und anderen phosphorhaltigen Liganden in der Atomlagenabscheidung (ALD = atomic layer deposition). Das abschließende Kapitel 7 fasst die Ergebnisse der gesamten Arbeit zusammen und gibt einen Ausblick.
