Abstract (English)
This thesis introduces ternary and quaternary polymeric phosphorus chalcogenide compounds. Five such compounds,alpha-P2S6Se, beta-P2S6Se, P2S6Te, P2S6.35Se0.64, and P2S5SeTe were synthesised by using hexa-hydrated ferric chloride as mineraliser and characterised. P2S6Te is the first inorganic compound containing phosphorus and tellurium starting from elemental precursors. These phosphorus mixed-chalcogenide compounds, in which four-membered P-S rings are connected via quite rare, chalcogen (Q1)-chalcogen (Q2) bonds. The repeated formation of two types of binary chemical bonds, i.e., (P-S)–(Q)–(S-P), allows formation of parallel-stacked polymeric chains in which the four-membered P-S units are connected via Q1-Q2-Q1 bridges. The reported structures, therefore, also allows some insight into chalcogen bonds by Raman spectroscopy. P3S8Te3, another polymeric compound, was synthesised starting from P2S6Te. This compound has a unique sheet like structure containing unusual Te-Te bond. Hexa-hydrated ferric chloride as mineraliser is also needed for this synthesis.
We have also clarified the crystal structure of (P4S3)@Zn7SI12 identifying guest cage molecule as P4S3 and synthesised a series of new compounds, (Pn4Q3)@Cu7M3I13. Even though all the compounds are isostructural with same space group but the host–guest interaction is different. (P4S3)@Zn7SI12, containing only Zn (II), shows non-bonding host–guest interaction between the cage molecule and metal halide framework whereas (Pn4Q3)@Cu7M3I13, containing Cu (I) and another transition metal M (II) has van der Waal interaction between the cage molecule and mix metal halide framework.
New phase of tetraphosphorus nonasulphide P4S9 and phosphorus sulphide iodide P4S3I2 was synthesised, characterised, and compared with the reported phases. A new triclinic phase of P4S9 was found by using excess iodine with the precursors. The structural analysis on a non-merohedral twinned single crystal shows that triclinic P4S9, like all phosphorus sulphides, is composed of neutral molecules. The new P4S3I2 has tetragonal symmetry like alpha’-P4S3I2 but with different space group P43 and designated as alpha’’-P4S3I2.

Diese Arbeit stellt ternäre und quaternäre polymere Phosphorchalkogenid-Verbindungen vor. Fünf solcher Verbindungen, alpha-P2S6Se, beta-P2S6Se, P2S6Te, P2S6.35Se0.64 und P2S5SeTe wurden unter Verwendung von hexahydratisiertem Eisenchlorid als Mineralisator synthetisiert und charakterisiert. P2S6Te ist die erste anorganische Verbindung, die ausgehend von elementaren Vorläufern Phosphor und Tellur enthält. Diese Phosphor-Misch-Chalkogenid-Verbindungen, in denen viergliedrige P-S-Ringe über recht seltene Chalkogen-(Q1)-Chalkogen-(Q2)-Bindungen verbunden sind, sind die ersten anorganischen Verbindungen, die Phosphor und Tellur enthalten. Die wiederholte Bildung von zwei Arten binärer chemischer Bindungen, d.h. (P-S)-(Q)-(S-P), ermöglicht die Bildung parallel gestapelter Polymerketten, in denen die viergliedrigen P-S-Einheiten über Q1-Q2-Q1-Brücken verbunden sind. Die berichteten Strukturen erlauben daher auch einen gewissen Einblick in Chalkogenbindungen durch Raman-Spektroskopie. P3S8Te3, eine weitere polymere Verbindung, wurde ausgehend von P2S6Te synthetisiert. Diese Verbindung hat eine einzigartige blattartige Struktur mit einer ungewöhnlichen Te-Te Bindung. Hexa-hydratisiertes Eisen-III-Chlorid als Mineralisator wird ebenfalls für diese Synthese benötigt.
Wir haben auch die Kristallstruktur von (P4S3)@Zn7SI12 aufgeklärt, indem wir das Gastkäfigmolekül als P4S3 identifiziert und eine Reihe neuer Verbindungen, (Pn4Q3)@Cu7M3I13, synthetisiert haben. Obwohl alle Verbindungen isostrukturell mit der gleichen Raumgruppe sind, ist die Wirt-Gast-Interaktion unterschiedlich. (P4S3)@Zn7SI12, das nur Zn (II) enthält, zeigt eine nicht-bindende Wirt-Gast-Wechselwirkung zwischen dem Käfigmolekül und dem Metallhalogenid-Gerüst, während (Pn4Q3)@Cu7M3I13, das Cu (I) und ein weiteres Übergangsmetall M (II) enthält, eine van-der-Waal-Wechselwirkung zwischen dem Käfigmolekül und dem Mischmetallhalogenid-Gerüst aufweist.
Eine neue Phase von Tetraphosphor-Nichtasulfid P4S9 und Phosphorsulfidjodid P4S3I2 wurde synthetisiert, charakterisiert und mit den berichteten Phasen verglichen. Eine neue triklinische Phase von P4S9 wurde durch Verwendung von überschüssigem Jod mit den Vorläufern gefunden. Die Strukturanalyse an einem nicht eroedrischen verzwillingten Einkristall zeigt, dass das trikline P4S9, wie alle Phosphorsulfide, aus neutralen Molekülen zusammengesetzt ist. Das neue P4S3I2 hat eine tetragonale Symmetrie wie alpha'-P4S3I2, jedoch mit einer anderen Raumgruppe P43 und wird als alpha''-P4S3I2 bezeichnet.
