Abstract
The near-threshold photo or electroproduction of heavy vector quarkonium off the proton is studied in quantum chromodynamics. Similar to the high-energy limit, the production amplitude can be factorized in terms of gluonic generalized parton distributions and the quarkonium distribution amplitude.
