This thesis deals with the synthesis of new polypnictogen ligand complexes (Eₙ ligand complexes) and the investigation of their reactivity towards one-electron oxidation agents and main-group electrophiles. The resulting cationic products are stabilized and characterized in solution as well as in the solid-state under weakly coordinating conditions. In Chapter 1, a general introduction into the chemistry of Eₙ ligand complexes with the main focus on cationic examples is given, followed by an outline of the research objectives. (chapter 2).
Chapter 3 provides a new and simple one-pot synthesis route for the tetrahedral dimolybdenum dipnictogen complexes [{CpMo(CO)₂}₂(µ,η²:η²-EE')] (E, E' = P, As, Sb, Bi) enhancing the yield of already known compounds and enabling access to the unprecedented, heavy hetero-dipnictogen ligands AsSb, AsBi and SbBi. Subsequently, the reactivity of these complexes towards one-electron oxidants (chapters 4-6) as well as main-group electrophiles (chapter 10) is discussed leading to a large diversity of extended cationic polypnictogen ligand complexes. In chapter 7, the oxidation chemistry of analogous E₃ ligand complexes [{CpMo(CO)₂}(η³-E₃)] (E = P, As) is described and in chapter 9 their respective electrophilic functionalization. Additionally, further large Asₙ ligand complexes (n ≥ 5) were investigated regarding their redox chemistry (chapter 8).
The thesis treasury, chapter 11, deals with further results in the field of cationic polypnictogen complexes, which, however, do not fit into a thematically well-defined chapter.
In chapter 12 a comprehensive conclusion is presented.

Diese Arbeit behandelt die Herstellung neuer Polypniktogen-Ligandkomplexe (Eₙ-Ligandkomplexe) sowie die Untersuchung dieser in Hinblick auf deren Reaktivität gegenüber Ein-Elektronen-Oxidationsmitteln und Hauptgruppen-Elektrophilen. Die entstehenden kationischen Produkte werden dabei unter schwach koordinierenden Bedingungen stabilisiert und sowohl in Lösung als auch im Festkörper näher charakterisiert. In Kapitel 1 wird eine allgemeine Einleitung zur Chemie von Eₙ-Ligandkomplexen, mit einem speziellen Fokus auf kationische Exemplare, bereitgestellt, gefolgt von einer Auflistung der Forschungsziele (Kapitel 2).
In Kapitel 3 wird eine neue und einfache Ein-Topf-Synthese für die tetraedrischen dimolybdän-dipniktogen-Komplexe [{CpMo(CO)₂}₂(µ,η²:η²-EE')] (E, E' = P, As, Sb, Bi) vorgestellt, welche die Ausbeuten bereits bekannter Verbindungen drastisch erhöht und zusätzlich die Herstellung der unbekannten, schweren hetero-Dipniktogenliganden AsSb, AsBi und SbBi ermöglicht. Anschließend wird die Reaktivität dieser Komplexe gegenüber Ein-Elektronen-Oxidationsmitteln (Kapitel 4-6) und Hauptgruppen-Elektrophilen (Kapitel 10) diskutiert, was zu einer großen Vielfalt an ausgedehnten, kationischen Polypniktogen-Ligandkomplexen führt. In Kapitel 7 wird die Oxidationschemie der entsprechenden E₃-Ligandkomplexe [{CpMo(CO)₂}(η³-E₃)] (E = P, As) beschrieben und in Kapitel 9 deren elektrophile Funktionalisierung. Zusätzlich wurden weitere, größere Asₙ-Ligandkomplexe (n ≥ 5) auf deren Redoxchemie untersucht (Kapitel 8).
In der 'Thesis Treausury' (Kapitel 11) werden zusätzliche Ergebnisse auf dem Gebiet kationischer Polypniktogenkomplexe vorgestellt, welche nicht in ein thematisch klar abgegrenztes Kapitel passen.
Eine ausführliche Zusammenfassung wird in Kapitel 12 gegeben.
