Zusammenfassung
Apart from treating symptoms, mucosal healing is a reasonable aim of therapy in Crohn's disease. In most patients, however, the disease takes a mild course and treating symptoms seems sufficient. Eliminating lesions may change the course of the disease long-term but this has not yet been proven. Thus far we need to treat symptoms efficiently and may attempt to restore bacterial epithelial interaction.
