The optimization of rural public transport is a crucial challenge that has a significant impact not only on mobility but also on the quality of life in remote regions. In many rural areas, the existing transportation infrastructure could be more efficient, reliable, and often more sufficiently adapted to the population’s needs. This thesis focuses specifically on the municipality of Roding and its public transportation system as a case study. This dissertation presents a comprehensive investigation into novel methods for optimizing public transportation in rural areas, incorporating advanced technologies. By applying these new methods, routes can be optimized, timetables adjusted, and the efficiency of public transport significantly increased. This reduces costs and resources and improves accessibility and punctuality for residents in rural areas. In addition, such measures can positively impact the local economy, tourism, and the environment by making transportation more sustainable while improving the quality of life in these regions.

Die Optimierung des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs im ländlichen Raum ist eine entscheidende Herausforderung, die sich nicht nur auf die Mobilität, sondern auch auf die Lebensqualität in abgelegenen Regionen auswirkt. In vielen ländlichen Gebieten könnte die bestehende Verkehrsinfrastruktur effizienter, zuverlässiger und oft auch besser an die Bedürfnisse der Bevölkerung angepasst werden. Diese Arbeit konzentriert sich speziell auf die Gemeinde Roding und ihr öffentliches Verkehrssystem als Fallstudie. In dieser Dissertation wird eine umfassende Untersuchung neuartiger Methoden zur Optimierung des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs in ländlichen Gebieten unter Einbeziehung moderner Technologien vorgestellt. Durch die Anwendung dieser neuen Methoden können Routen optimiert, Fahrpläne angepasst und die Effizienz des öffentlichen Verkehrs erheblich gesteigert werden. Dadurch werden Kosten und Ressourcen eingespart und die Erreichbarkeit und Pünktlichkeit für die Bewohner ländlicher Gebiete verbessert. Darüber hinaus können sich solche Maßnahmen positiv auf die lokale Wirtschaft, den Tourismus und die Umwelt auswirken, indem sie den Verkehr nachhaltiger gestalten und die Lebensqualität in diesen Regionen verbessern.
