Abstract

Single amoebae of Dictyostelium discoideum were locally stimulated with microbeams of white and monochromatic light. Low illuminance stimulation favored formation of pseudopodia at the irradiated parts of the cells, high illuminance stimulation locally suppressed the extension of pseudopodia.
