Abstract

Using basic thermodynamic principles we derive a Cahn--Hilliard--Darcy model for tumour growth including nutrient diffusion, chemotaxis, active transport, adhesion, apoptosis and proliferation. The model generalises earlier models and in particular includes active transport mechanisms which ensure thermodynamic consistency.
