Abstract (English)

In the nucleus of eukaryotes DNA is assembled into a large nucleoprotein complex, called chromatin. Histones form the basic chromatin component, the nucleosome. Nucleosomes impair the access of proteins to DNA and may interfere with DNA-dependent processes such as transcription, replication and DNA repair.
