Abstract (English)

The uniform F-nilpotence theorem by Quillen gives a comparison map between the Borel equivariant cohomology of a space and a limit involving only the Borel equivariant cohomology groups of the same space with the action restricted to the elementary abelian subgroups. The theorem states that the elements in the kernel are nilpotent, and that every element in the codomain has a power that is in the image. By work of Mathew-Naumann-Noel, for a fixed group and an arbitrary space, there is a uniform bound on the nilpotence degree of the elements in the kernel, and on the power necessary to raise an element in the codomain by to get an element in the image. Using their methods, we give explicit upper bounds for finite groups with 2-Sylow of order less than or equal to 16. In particular, we show that the elements in the kernel have in that case nilpotence degree less than or equal to 4, and every element in the codomain raised to the power 8 is in the image. We do this by bounding from above the exponent, as defined by Mathew-Naumann-Noel, of Borel equivariant singular Z/2-cohomology for the 2-groups of order less than or equal to 16. We also bound the exponent from below by computing a homotopy limit spectral sequence for all these groups.

Quillen’s Satz der uniformen F-Nilpotenz liefert eine Vegleichsabbildung zwischen der Borel equivarianten Kohomologie eines Raumes und dem Limes der Borel equivarianten Kohomologiegruppen des Raumes eingeschränkt auf die Wirkung der elementaren abelschen Untergruppen. Der Satz besagt, dass alle Elemente im Kern der Vergleichsabbildung nilpotent sind und alle Elemente im Ziel eine Potenz haben, die im Bild liegt. Aus der Arbeit von Mathew-Naumann-Noel folgt, dass der Nilpotenzgrad und der Exponent für eine feste Gruppe und einen beliebigen Raum uniform beschränkt werden können. Mit den Methoden aus Mathew-Naumann-Noel bestimmen wir explizite Schranken für Gruppen mit 2-Sylow (Untergruppen?), deren Ordnung kleiner oder gleich 16 ist. Insbesondere beweisen wir, dass alle Elemente im Kern Nilpotenzgrad kleiner als 4 haben und dass alle Elemente im Ziel zur achten Potenz im Bild sind. Wir beweisen das, indem wir den Exponenten, definiert in der Arbeit von MAthew-Naumann-Noel, der Borel equivarianten Z/2-Kohomologie für alle endlichen 2-Gruppen der Ordnung kleiner oder gleich 16 von oben beschränken. Wir beweisen auch eine untere Schranke des Exponenten indem wir eine Homotopielimes Spektralfolge für alle diese Gruppen berechnen.
