Abstract (German)
Da bei Hirntoten das Herz noch schlägt und Hirntote für medizinische Laien wie Komapatienten erscheinen, gibt es zahlreiche Missverständnisse sowie Halb- und Unwahrheiten im Zusammenhang mit Hirntod. Dieses Buch erklärt in allgemein verständlicher Sprache, wie es zum Hirntod kommt, welcher Zustand Hirntod darstellt und welche Tragweite Hirntod für den betroffenen Menschen hat. Dabei gibt das Buch Einblick in die physiologischen Abläufe, ohne dass medizinisches Grundwissen verlangt wird.
