Abstract (German)

Die Dissertation mit dem Titel " Synthesis and Characterisation of P- or As- containing Nanoparticle Precursors" befasst sich mit der Synthese und Charakterisierung von Komplexen, die labile Liganden an Pnictogen-Atomen enthalten und deshalb geeignete Single-Source-Precursoren für die Synthese von Nanopartikeln sein könnten.
Im ersten Teil wird der terminale Diarsen-Ligand HAs=AsH, ein Verwandter des isolierbaren Ethens, auf seine Bindungsverhältnisse untersucht. Durch die Methanolyse eines Tris(trimethylsilyl)arsankomplexes und anschließender Sublimation konnte eine neue Verbindung isoliert werden, die die Stammverbindung des Diarsens als bislang beispiellosen side-on-koordinierten Liganden, stabilisiert in der Koordinationsspähre eines Übergangsmetalls, enthält. Auf diesem synthetischen Weg konnte auch der deuterierte Komplex isoliert werden. Die elektronische Struktur und Bindungssituation dieses Diarsens wurden durch DFT-Berechnungen aufgeklärt, wobei sich herausstellte, dass der Komplex am besten als ein Olefinkomplex beschrieben werden kann. Darüber hinaus wurde die Reaktivität des Diarsenkomplexes gegenüber Lewis-Säuren untersucht, was unter anderem zu dem ersten strukturell charakterisierten Komplex mit einem planaren FeAsFeAs-Ring führte.
Im zweiten Teil wird die Synthese und Charakterisierung neuer Kalium- und Indiumtriphospholyle beschrieben. Die Verwendung des Indiumtriphospholyls mit Mesitylrest als vielversprechender Precursor für InP-Nanopartikel wurde mittels TGA, Röntgen- und Massenspektroskopie untersucht. Weiterhin berichten wir über die Synthese von Nanopartikeln, die aus Indium und Phosphor bestehen, über einen Single-Source-Precursor-Ansatz unter Verwendung eines bekannten Indiumtriphospholyls mit tert-Butylresten als Precursor. Die Charakterisierung der Nanopartikel mit TEM, HRTEM, EDX und XRD zeigt, dass diese Partikel nur aus einer Hülle aus InP um einen In-Kern bestehen. Durch die Anwendung eines Heißinjektionsverfahrens ändert sich die Zusammensetzung des Zersetzungsprodukts, es werden jedoch keine monodispersen Nanopartikel gebildet.

Translation of the abstract (English)

The dissertation with the title “Synthesis and Characterisation of P- or As- containing Nanoparticle Precursors” targets the synthesis and characterisation of complexes containing labile ligands on pnictogenyl atoms, which could be suitable single source precursors for the synthesis of nanoparticles.
In the first part, the terminal diarsene HAs=AsH ligand attracts special interest concerning its bonding relation in comparison to its isolable relative, ethene. By the methanolysis of a tris(trimethylsilyl)arsine complex, followed by sublimation, a new compound containing a parent diarsene as unprecedented side-on coordinated ligand stabilized by the coordination sphere of a transition metal could be isolated. Following this synthetic route, also the D-labeled complex could be isolated. The electronic structure and bonding situation of this diarsene was elucidated by DFT calculations revealing that it is best described as an olefin-like complex. Moreover, the reactivity of the diarsene complex towards Lewis acids was investigated, leading inter alia to the first structurally characterised complex with a planar FeAsFeAs ring.
In the second part, the synthesis and characterisation of the new potassium and indium triphospholyls are described. The use of the indium triphospholyl with mesityl rest as a promising precursor for InP nanoparticles was investigated by TGA, X-ray and mass spectroscopy. Further, we report the synthesis of nanoparticles consisting of indium and phosphorus via a single-source precursor approach using a known indium triphospholyl with tert-butyl rest as precursor. The characterisation of the nanoparticles with TEM, HRTEM, EDX and XRD show that these particles consist only of a shell of InP around an In nucleus. The usage of a hot injection method changes the composition of the decomposition product, but no monodisperse nanoparticles are formed.
