This thesis is about Cauchy problems on Lorentzian manifolds, in particular we start with the setup of a Lorentzian manifold with a parallel null vector field. Abstract (English)

This thesis is about Cauchy problems on Lorentzian manifolds, in particular we start with the setup of a Lorentzian manifold with a parallel null vector field. When we restrict this vector field to a spacelike Cauchy surface, we obtain a solution of a constraint equation, which we will call the Riemannian constraint equation, see
Equation (1.1) for more details. In the following we can ask whether a Riemannian manifold equipped with a nowhere vanishing vector field, which satisfies the constraint equation, can be extended to a Lorentzian manifold and carries a parallel null vector.

In dieser Arbeit geht es um Cauchy-Probleme auf Lorentzschen Mannigfaltigkeiten, insbesondere beginnen wir mit einer Lorentzschen Mannigfaltigkeit mit einem parallelen Nullvektorfeld. Wenn wir dieses Vektorfeld auf eine raumähnliche Cauchy-Fläche einschränken, erhalten wir die Lösung einer Zwangsgleichung, die wir als Riemannsche Zwangsgleichung bezeichnen werden, siehe
Gleichung (1.1) für weitere Einzelheiten. Im Folgenden können wir fragen, ob eine Riemannsche Mannigfaltigkeit mit einem nirgends verschwindenden Vektorfeld, das die Zwangsgleichung erfüllt, zu einer Lorentzschen Mannigfaltigkeit erweitert werden kann und einen parallelen Nullvektor trägt.
