Abstract (English)

The dominant energy condition imposes a restriction on initial value pairs found on a spacelike hypersurface of a Lorentzian manifold. In this master thesis, we discuss strict versions of dominant energy condition both for initial values and complete spacetimes and the relation thereof. Then we move on to study the space of initial values that satisfy the stict dominant energy condition. To this aim, we introduce an index difference for initial value pairs and compare it to its classical counterpart for Riemannian metrics. Recent non-triviality results for the latter will then imply that the space has non-trivial homotopy groups.

Die dominante Energiebedingung schränkt die Anfangswertpaare ein, die auf einer raumartigen Hyperfläche einer lorentzschen Mannigfaltigkeit zu finden sind. In dieser Masterarbeit diskutieren wir strikte Versionen der dominanten Energiebedingung, sowohl für Anfangswerte als auch komplette Raumzeiten, und deren Verhältnis. Im Weiteren untersuchen wir den Raum der Anfangswerte, die die strikte dominante Energiebedingung erfüllen. Zu diesem Zweck führen wir eine Indexdifferenz für Anfangswertpaare ein und vergleichen sie mit ihrem klassischen Gegenstück für riemannsche Metriken. Jüngere Resultate über die Nichttrivialität der letzteren haben dann zur Folge, dass der Raum nicht-triviale Homotopiegruppen besitzt.
