Abstract (English)

The notion of holonomy is an important topic in differential geometry. Given a principal bundle with connection or a vector bundle with connection, the endomorphisms of the fibres induced by parallel transport along closed curves form a group, the holonomy group, which is closely related to the curvature of the connection. In this work, these groups are studied in more detail, in particular with respect to the Levi-Civita connection on a Riemannian manifold.

In the first section, we study basic properties of holonomy groups, reducible Riemannian holonomy groups and local and infinitesimal holonomy groups. In the second part, we examine more closely the properties of invariant connections on Riemannian homogeneous spaces and symmetric spaces and prove that the holonomy group of the latter coincides (under suitable assumptions) with the linear isotropy group. Afterwards, we prove the well-known reduction theorem and the Ambrose-Singer theorem which hold true in general for connections on principal bundles. In the fourth section, we study Riemannian manifolds with holonomy contained in $\Sp(m)\Sp(1)$ , the quaternion-Kähler manifolds, as an example of manifolds with special holonomy. Finally, we consider the holonomy groups of metric connections on vector bundles and consider the changes of the holonomy group under a variation of connection. In particular, we prove a monotony result for the holonomy group in limits.

Der Begriff der Holonomie ist von großer Bedeutung in der Differentialgeometrie. Betrachtet man ein Hauptfaserbündel mit Zusammenhang oder ein Vektorbündel mit Zusammenhang, so formen die Endomorphismen der Fasern, welche durch den Paralleltransport entlang geschlossener Schleifen gegeben sind, eine Gruppe. Diese wird die Holonomiegruppe des Zusammenhangs genannt und steht in enger Verbindung zu dessen Krümmung. In dieser Arbeit werden diese Gruppen betrachtet, insbesondere für den Spezialfall des Levi-Civita-Zusammenhangs auf einer Riemannschen Mannigfaltigkeit.

Im ersten Abschnitt werden grundlegende Eigenschaften der Holonomiegruppen, reduzible Riemannsche Holonomien und lokale und infinitesimale Holonomiegruppen studiert. Im darauffolgenden Teil werden invariante Zusammenhänge auf Riemannschen homogenen und symmetrischen Räumen betrachtet und es wird bewiesen, dass die Holonomiegruppe letzterer (unter geeigneten Annahmen) durch die lineare Isotropiegruppe gegeben ist. Daraufhin wird das Reduktions-Theorem sowie das Ambrose-Singer-Theorem bewiesen, welche für allgemeine Zusammenhänge auf Hauptfaserbündeln gelten. Im vierten Abschnitt werden als Beispiel für Riemannsche Mannigfaltigkeiten mit spezieller Holonomie solche mit Holonomie enthalten in $\Sp(m)\Sp(1)$ behandelt, die Quaternion-Kähler-Mannigfaltigkeiten. Abschließend werden die Holonomiegruppen metrischer Zusammenhänge auf Vektorbündeln betrachtet und die Änderung der Holonomiegruppe bei einer Änderung des Zusammenhangs studiert. Insbesondere wird ein Monotonie-Resultat für die Holonomiegruppe bei Betrachtung von Limites bewiesen.
