University of Regensburg Publication Server

This is the University of Regensburg's institutional repository containing a growing collection of publications from the University. At present, it contains 49586 records.

The publication server serves as

  • Central record of publications of the University of Regensburg ("University bibliography")
  • Publishing plattform for Open-Access-publications

With the help of the publication server, the University Library of Regensburg supports the scientists of the university to publish and archive their research according to the open access policy of the University of Regensburg or in compliance with the guidelines of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The publication server currently contains 18995 publications in terms of open access.

Both primary publications ("gold road to open access") and self-archiving of closed-access publications ("green road to open access") can be published on the publication server. Also an embargo , after which the full-text will become automatically accessible, can be added. Moreover, the mere input of bibliographic data without depositing a full-text version is possible for generating publication lists. Because of the integration of ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID), an unique identification and an easy data exchange between the platforms is possible. Thus publications will become visible on several sites with just a few clicks.

Possible document types go from traditional publications as articles, books, and theses, to discussion papers, presentations, teaching resources, or research data. More information on content, metadata, submission and archiving can be found in our policy.

Search engines like Google, Google Scholar, or Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE) list publications on the University of Regensburg Publication Server, making them widely accessible throughout the Internet. Moreover our full-texts are visible for example over the plugin Unpaywall or the platforms OpenAire and DataCite Search. More information about searching open access documents can be found on the websites of our university library under Literature Search.

The publication server has been first out of 180 open access repositories in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in the "Open Access Repository Ranking 2015" (see the University's press release).

The publication server uses the software EPrints 3, developed at the University of Southampton, and supports the web-protocoll OAI-PMH for the exchange of metadata. The deposited metadata scheme is Dublin Core.
