In the last three decades, a large amount of experimental data (for example Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) at fluorescently labelled receptors) supported the hypothesis of the dimerization of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR), including neuropeptide Y (NPY YxR) and histamine (HxR) receptors.
