The neuropeptide Y hormone family consists of three 36-amino acid peptides, namely neuropeptide Y (NPY), peptide YY (PYY) and pancreatic polypeptide (PP), involved in the regulation of numerous physiological processes such as food intake, blood pressure, stress, pain and hormone secretion.
