Bei der Neuentwicklung oder Anpassung von Funktionen für Flugzeug-Cockpits ist sicherzustellen, dass diese Änderungen weder die Aufrechterhaltung des Situationsbewusstseins der Nutzer gefährdet noch deren Arbeitsbelastung in kritischem Ausmaß erhöht, um die weitere Gebrauchstauglichkeit der Nutzerschnittstelle zu gewährleisten. Daher ist vor Implementierung einer neuen oder geänderten technischen Funktion deren Auswirkung auf den Nutzer im Hinblick auf diese interdependenten Qualitätskriterien zu überprüfen. Hierzu ist es notwendig, die Qualitätskriterien möglichst umfassend, das heißt anhand eines multidimensionalen Human-Factors-Methoden-Inventars, zu erfassen. Dies sollte aus ökonomischen Gründen bereits in einem frühen Stadium der Entwicklung in hierfür geeigneten Simulationsumgebungen unter Einbindung der Nutzer und unter Abbildung eines repräsentativen Aufgaben- und Nutzungskontextes geschehen. Dies hat zur Konsequenz, dass das Methoden-Inventar systematisch und unter Erhalt des Nutzungskontextes in die Evaluierungen der technischen Cockpit-Funktionen eingebunden werden muss.
In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird daher untersucht, wie ein Human-Factors-Methoden-Inventar beschaffen sein muss, um in eine spezifische Simulationsumgebung wie der eines Flugzeug-Cockpits eingebunden werden zu können. Hierzu werden Human-Factors-Methoden für Situationsbewusstsein, Workload und Gebrauchstauglichkeit sukzessive kombiniert, angepasst und in die Simulationsumgebung integriert. Anhand von vier technischen Funktionen wird das Methoden-Inventar zur Evaluierung der Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle Cockpit verwendet. Die Eignung des Methoden-Inventars wird anhand eines angepassten Multi-Trait/ Multi-Method-Ansatzes als Validierungsstrategie überprüft. Es zeigt sich, dass die untersuchten Qualitätskriterien anhand der eingesetzten Methoden nur schwer hinsichtlich konvergenter und diskriminanter Validität abzugrenzen sind. Eine Überschneidung der Konstrukte wird unter Einsatz der verwendeten Validierungsstrategie somit offenkundig.
Die Konsequenzen dieses Ergebnisses für die Weiterentwicklung des Instrumentariums zur Erfassung der Qualitätskriterien sowie der darauf aufbauenden Validierungsstrategien wird abschließend diskutiert.

When implementing technical functions into aircraft cockpits, it has to be ensured that these changes will not endanger the formation of operators` Situational Awareness, nor that they will increase operator workload beyond measure in order to warrant the cockpit`s Usability. This is why a new or changed technical funciton has to be assessed regarding its impact on the user and according to the above mentioned interdependent quality criteria. Thus, a multidimensional inventory of Human Factors methods has to be applied. This should be done at an early stage of the function`s development for economical reasons. For reasons of interpretability expert users in interaction with their tasks and in realistic contexts have to be studied. For an evaluation of technical functions the method inventory has to be integrated thoroughly into the simulation environment in order to preserve the user context.
In this thesis it is investigated, how a Human Factors method inventory should be compiled, for its implementation into a specific simulation environment for aircraft cockpits. Therefore Human Factors methods will be successively combined, adapted and integrated within the simulation environment. For evaluating the man machine interface, cockpit, four technical functions are used. The suitability of the method inventory is assessed on the basis of a validation strategy which is an adapted Multi-Trait/ Multi-Method approach. It is shown, that the evaluated quality criteria apperently overlap heavily and therefore cannot be well differentiated according to their convergent and discriminant validity. An overlap of these constructs is therefore apparent, which could be shown with the used validation strategy.
In conclusion the consequences of these results are discussed regarding the further developments of the quality critera measures and its impact on a further validation strategy.
